Mike Miller

Mike Miller, age 73, of Lennox, SD, passed away March 19, 2025, at the Centerville Care and Rehab Center, Centerville, SD, under hospice care, of note, just 2 days prior to World Down Syndrome Day, which Mike was born with. Michael Alan Miller was born June 22, 1951, at Lennox, SD, the son of John Harley and Margorie (Tripp) Miller. He attended Faith School and then later Lennox Public School and the Lennox Day Center. Mike was a life long member of Lennox Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an usher for many years.. In younger years, he enjoyed bowling and swimming. He found purpose in working with wood, specifically sanding boards, furniture and his own bedroom hardwood floor. Mike was a prayer warrior and had volunteered at the Lennox Pre-school for many years. He had many "girlfriends" and never met anyone he didn't know, as evidenced by the statement "I know you." Mike enjoyed attending Lennox Municipal Band concerts and was made an honorary member of the band. He loved his birthday and birthday parties, so much so that he was discouraged from talking about it until the month of June. Mike loved the color red, butterflies, ice cream, lighthouses and singing. Mike deeply loved his family and was deeply loved by his family. His life was greatly enriched by the care and devotion of his entire family, particularly his mom and dad. Mike was preceded in death by his father J. Harley Miller on March 25, 1994; brothers-in-law: Steve and Larry; great-nephew, Theodore. Grateful for having shared his life are his mother, Marge of Lennox; siblings: Gail Austin, Garretson, Sandra DeVries, Lennox and Patrick (Deborah) Miller, Lennox; nieces and nephew: Michelle (Chad) Powers, April (Nick) Rerick, Melissa (Drew) Kummer, Andrea (Mike) Chayka, Benjamin (Della) Miller and Amanda (Luke) Throckmorton, as well as a host of all of his nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29 at the Lennox Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Lennox, SD, with burial to follow in the Lennox Cemetery. Visitation, also at Lennox Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, with the family present, will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 28.
