Dianne Fae Nordmann

Dianne Fae (Buus) Nordmann passed away on August 15th, 2025, in Sioux Falls SD, at the age of 82 years, 2 months, and 13 days. Dianne was born in Lennox SD on June 2nd, 1943, to George and Menna (Rops) Buus. She grew up on a farm by Davis and then moved to the family homestead by Lennox with her five siblings. (Anita, Lela, Wendell, Marlys, and Charles) She attended and graduated from Lennox High School. On April 9th, 1963, she married the love of her life, Harley (H.P.) Nordmann. They moved to a farm near Chancellor, SD, where they spent 61 incredible years together. She was an active member of the Turner County Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where she spent many years teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, directing Christmas programs and singing in the choir. Dianne was the ultimate homemaker her entire life. She meticulously cleaned and decorated to make her home welcoming... a hostess extraordinaire. She worked a short time for the Lennox Chiropractic office as a Chiropractic assistant. Dianne spent lots of time selling pies and food at farm sales and craft shows. Dianne was a 4-H participant, judge, and leader, loving the fair her entire life, spending 40 years at the SD State Fair. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, baking, crafting, listening to the Gaither’s and quartets. In her free time, she loved doing puzzles, reading lots of books, including her favorite author, Max Lucado. Dianne spent countless hours creating scrapbooks to preserve our family stories and keep the memories alive. During the fall season, she would be cheering on her Minnesota Vikings and after that, the Minnesota Twins. Her greatest joy came from attending the activities of her children, extended family, and grandkids. Dianne loved the Lord and lived her life serving Him, and leading others to Christ. Dianne was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, sister Marlys Davis, and son in law Rick Norris. Grateful for having shared her life are her three children: Lisa (Rick) Norris, Todd (Coral) Nordmann, and Amie (Tim) Watson. She had seven special grandchildren: Thayme Watson, Shay Norris, Harm Walker Watson, Denver Nordmann, Kyja Norris, Sami Nordmann, and Rykr Norris. She also has many in-laws, nephews, nieces, and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation with family will be held at the Turner County Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Davis, SD, from 4-7 pm on Thursday, August 21st. The funeral will take place at the church on Friday, August 22nd, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the family, who will contribute to Dianne’s church Sunday School and Vacation Bible School funds. Dianne’s family appreciates your support and presence during this time.
