Dennis E. Miles

Dennis Edwin Miles, of Worthing, South Dakota died at home on June 12, 2026 at the age of 71. His wife, Pam Miles passed just 12 days later on June 24, 2026. A visitation to remember Dennis and Pam will be from 10:00 am-12:00 pm on Friday, July 3, 2026 at Jarman Family Funeral Home in Lennox with burial to follow. Dennis was a twin, one of six children born to parents Edward and Berniece (Van Roekel) Miles. He was born in Sioux Falls and grew up in Worthing, graduating from Lennox High School in 1973. Dennis was a dependable worker, and always well-liked by his colleagues at John Morrell and Adams Thermal, where he was a welder for 31 years. On Wednesday evening October 1, 1975, Dennis was united in marriage to Pamela Comford at the United Methodist Church in Canton. The two celebrated their 50-year anniversary last year and Dennis has since taken every opportunity to share his joy at such a wonderful milestone, telling everyone he came in contact with including strangers. He was a wonderful husband and proud father to his son Keith, who he enjoyed visiting in Roanoke often during his life. A lifelong collector, Dennis spent time buying and selling at all the big flea markets, including in Okoboji and Benson’s Flea Market. He bought and sorted through storage units in search of treasures, from guns to antique fishing lures. When he wasn’t busy at the flea markets, Dennis enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout the area. Dennis enjoyed meeting and getting to know people; he could talk to anyone and everyone he met became a friend in short order. Most of all, he loved his family. He visited regularly with his sister and brothers who lived nearby. Rarely calling first, Dennis would often just show up and invite them along for a ride somewhere or walk on in and sit down for a chat. Dennis was survived by his wife, Pamela Miles, who died 12 days later; brothers, Dean (Janet) Miles of Worthing, Gary (Colleen) Miles of Larchwood, IA, Dave (Debbie) Miles of Worthing; sister Linda Miles of Worthing and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his son Keith Miles and brother Linus Miles.
