Todd Wolthuis

Todd Jay Wolthuis, 52, of Tea, SD, died Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Avera Dougherty Hospice House, Sioux Falls, SD. Todd was born on August 3, 1966 in Sioux Falls, SD, the son of Harlan "Stretch" and Bonnie (Atkins) Wolthuis. He attended school in Harrisburg and graduated from Lennox High School. He went on to earn a bachelors degree in business from National College in Sioux Falls, where he graduated with honors. Todd served in the US Marine Corps until his honorable discharge. Todd married Lisa Bunjer, and from this union they had three children: Nick, Jessi and Chris. Todd lived in Lennox, Hurley and Tea. Throughout his career, he worked at Koyker Manufacturing in Lennox, Exhaust Pros in Sioux Falls, owned Quizno's Subs in Sioux Falls, Hurley Bar and Grill in Hurley and Doghouse Lounge in Beresford. Most recently, Todd worked as the office manager for Satnan Avionics in Sioux Falls and at the Tea Steakhouse as a cook catering for special events. Todd was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Tea and the Tea American Legion. He enjoyed golf, NASCAR, and going to the casino. He was a Minnesota Vikings fan, loved classic rock and roll music, and attended numerous concerts with family and friends. Todd was a devoted father, who loved his children and made them his number one priority. Todd was preceded in death by his father, Harlan "Stretch" Wolthuis and brother-in- law, Mike Joffer. Grateful for having shared his life are his three children: Nickolas Wolthuis, Jacksonville, FL. Jessica Wolthuis, Charlotte, NC and Christopher Wolthuis, Sioux Falls; mother, Bonnie Wolthuis, Tea; siblings: Kathy (Kevin) Tyler, DuBois, PA, Kim (Jeff) DeJong, Sioux Falls and Terry (Kelly) Wolthuis, Rapid City as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of friends. Services will begin 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 25 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Tea, SD with burial to follow in the Tea Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation, also at Trinity Lutheran, with the family present, will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to Todd's children are requested.
