Susan Luden

Susan Luden, 52, died Sunday evening, July 8, 2012 at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center following a lengthly battle with Huntington's. Susan Marie Stratmeyer was born on February 9, 1960 at Blue Cloud, Nebraska, the daughter of Charles August and Ann (Wilson) Stratmeyer. She lived in Sioux Falls until moving to Lennox when she entered school. Susan graduated from Lennox High School in 1978. On November 8, 1975 she was united in marriage to Terry Luden at the First English Lutheran Church. Two children were born to this union. Susan began a successful banking career in Tea, then Sioux Falls and became the Branch Manager of Home Federal Savings Bank in Lennox until ill health caused her retirement in 2004. She had been a part of the Edgewood Vista Assisted Living family for the past seven years. Sue was a member of First English Lutheran Church. She was an active member of the Lennox community, church and school. She was a member of the Lennox Commercial Club. She enjoyed crafts, shopping and attending her children's school events. She loved spending time with her family and giving to others. Susan was preceded in death by her father, Charles on May 2, 1987; two brothers: Scott Stratmeyer on September 17, 1989 and Todd Stratmeyer on October 2, 1992 and her step-father James Plimpton on October 17, 1997. Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Jeremy (Alissa) Luden, Chancellor and Niki (Dallas) Clarksean, Mankato, MN; three grandchildren: Ryan Luden, Aspen and Hudson Clarksean; her mother, Ann Plimpton, Lennox; four brothers: Tim (Brenda) Plimpton, Beaver Creek, MN, Jim (Brenda) Plimpton, Sioux Falls, Terry (Pam) Plimpton, Lennox and Kent (Terri) Plimpton, Lennox; special friend, Leslie Fylling, Lennox and many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 13 at First English Lutheran Church, Lennox. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the Dindot-Klusmann Funeral Home, Lennox with family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial may be directed to the Huntington's Society of America, Sioux Valley Chapter, First English Lutheran Church or Edgewood Vista Assisted Living Gazebo Fund.
