Lila Hanisch

Lila Rae Hanisch, 79, of Sioux Falls, SD died December 7, 2015. She was born to Clarence and Gladys (Harvey) Gunderson. She was raised and educated in the Sioux Falls area. Lila married Edward Hanisch on January 27, 1957. They had four children, Randall, Rhonda, Roger and Roxanne. At the time of her death, Lila was a member of Renner Lutheran Church. Lila's first job was at the Renner Corner. She was a diligent worker and loyal to all her employers over the years. After retirement from Raven industries, Lila worked at the hardware store in Lennox for a time. Lila enjoyed being active. She had fun roller skating, dancing, including square dancing, bowling and playing yard games, and Farkle. She also enjoyed embroidery and quilting. She valued visiting with family and friends. Lila was resilient, strong and faithful. She shared her faith, her hope, and her love. She was patient, kind, honest, and forbearing. She passed these values and characteristics onto her family. She is survived by her husband Edward; children: Randy (Eldonna) Hanisch, Lennox, Rhonda Hanisch, Brookings, Roger (Gayle) Hanisch, Lennox and Roxanne (Todd Prochniak) Frier, Lennox; grandchildren: David (Denise) Hanisch, Worthing, Angela (Austin Kruger) Hanisch, Miller, Dustin (Jen Vander Brink) Hanisch, Worthing, Andy (Tara) Hanisch, Lennox, Alex Hanisch, Lennox and Lee Frier, Lennox; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jayden, Aiden, Addison, Ashlyn Jo, Joslyn and Hayes; three brothers: Milo (Sandy) Gunderson, Robert (Sheila) Gunderson and Layne (Sharon) Gunderson, all of Sioux Falls; two sisters: Mona (Don) Nelson, Dell Rapids and Audrey Bietelspacher, Hoven; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Curtis and Charles; sisters: Karen and Carla, and granddaughter Jennifer Hanisch. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Tea with burial to follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Valley Springs, SD. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Dindot-Klusmann Funeral Home, Lennox. In leiu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Renner Lutheran Church.
