Josh Steinfurth

Josh Steinfurth, 23, of Lennox, SD, died Saturday, August 8, 2020, in Sioux Falls, SD, from an apparent accidental overdose. Joshua Kenneth Steinfurth was born in Sioux Falls, SD, on July 21, 1997, the son of James and Alicia (Goeman) Steinfurth. He grew up in Lennox attending Lennox Public Schools and graduated from Lennox High School in 2015. He then worked as a ride along for Farner-Bockman and then in the warehouse of the South Dakota Furniture Mart. Josh then began a carrier with Beal Distributing in Sioux Falls, as a Budweiser route driver, serving the Brookings area. Josh truly enjoyed his job and cherished the many friendships of his customers and fellow employees. Josh was a member of the Second Reformed Church in Lennox where he had been active in the youth group while growing up. He recently had attended Central Church in Sioux Falls. Josh deeply loved his Lord and Savior and would not hesitate to talk about it. Josh enjoyed fishing and had recently purchased his own boat. He was an avid duck hunter who also enjoyed archery and rifle deer hunting. Josh drove enduro race cars and had competed and placed in competitions in LuVern, Rock Rapids and Parker. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping and sitting around a campfire with family and friends. Most of all, Josh loved his family. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harold Steinfurth and an aunt, Julie Saylor. Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, James and Alicia Steinfurth, Lennox; one sister, Elizabeth "Liz" Steinfurth, Lennox; grandparents: Allan and Kay Goeman, Lennox and Sherry Steinfurth, Sioux Falls; aunts and uncles: Derrick and Renee Fox, Ankeny, IA, Jeff and Jane Buchanan, Savana, GA, Mark and Susan Steinfurth, Sioux Falls, Rod and Marsha Dunnick, Sioux Falls and Dan and Jill Caudillo, Leland, NC; special friends: Levi Buchneberg, Chaz Beans, Nathan Townsend and Kaleb Smit, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. Public services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15 at Second Reformed Church, Lennox with burial to follow in the Lennox Cemetery. Public visitation with the family present, also at Second Reformed Church, will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials toward funeral expenses are requested.
